Kate is a New Zealand fine artist from Hawkes Bay and has been painting since 1999. Her work is held in private collections throughout New Zealand, Europe, Australia and America.

Kate’s paintings reflect the connection between people and their land. Elements of surrealism and escapism are mingled in a unique style, with hide-and-seek references and playful visual puns. Kate likes to explore the fine line between reality and surrealism, with subtle reference to political and social issues.

Over the past few years her work has been selected for Hawkes Bay Review and EAST Exhibition, and in 2014 she won the Supreme World of Wearable Arts Award with her entry design, Poly Nation.

Kate gained early success into her career in 2000 and 2001, becoming a finalist with 3 works in the National Telecom Art Awards, and in 2002 was chosen as feature Artist for the Hawkes Bay Vintners Charity Wine Auction with her painting, The Naked Bidder. Kate’s work has been commissioned for public display such as the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor and the Hawkes Bay Opera House.
